Steve discovered Steely Dan in his teens (now quite a long time ago), and for decades thought he and a friend were pretty much the only Dan fans he knew.
Until he discovered that some other friends were, unbeknownst to him, also infected by the bug, and planning to start a tribute band.
Eventually, after a bit of nagging, they let him join.
Steve’s contribution to Stanley Dee is mainly of the trumpet and flugelhorn variety, but he also dabbles in acoustic guitar and vocals.
When not playing with Stanley Dee, he can often be found playing with various brass bands, or with local covers band The Soulmates, or with Cowboy Jazz pioneers Helen and the Horns.
